My grandfather’s generosity and love for others continue to inspire me

My grandfather, Shri Raghuvir Yadav, was a very simple and humble man. He lived in Baldevpur, district Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

In his free time, he loved singing bhajans and was always eager to help others in the community. He was known for his kindness and simple nature.
He was a farmer and owned a good amount of land, enough to provide for his family, though not a huge farm. He worked hard throughout his life, tending to his land and animals, including cattle, buffaloes, and bulls.

His house was in a rural village, surrounded by fields and greenery. It was a modest, peaceful place that always felt welcoming. I remember the house being simple but cozy, with a lot of space around it.
helpingWhen I visited with my parents during summer vacations, it usually took us around 9 to 10 hours by bus to reach his place from our home. The journey was always an adventure, with beautiful views of the village and lush greenery along the way.

He would also tell me stories about his younger days and the hard work it took to manage the farm.
When I visited, I loved spending time with him outdoors, especially in the evenings. We would sometimes sit together and listen to him sing bhajans.
helpingI enjoyed these moments of quiet conversation and learning from him. Even though I was young, I could sense the wisdom in his words. Yes, I did spend a lot of time with him, and those visits are some of my fondest memories.

A memory that stands out to me is when he would take me to the cattle shed. He was so calm and patient with the animals, and I remember him showing me how to care for them, feeding the cows, and ensuring they were healthy.
It felt like he had a special bond with them, and I learned a lot about responsibility from him in those moments.

My grandfather was always kind to everyone, but I definitely felt special when I was with him. He would do small things to show he cared, like making sure I was comfortable or giving me some of his favorite snacks.
He had a way of making you feel like you mattered. His warmth and kindness were never limited to just family, he was always ready to help anyone who needed it.
