They inspired us to be better and participate in school projects, and they encouraged interaction between schools in the city. Seeing my own development led me to try to teach and inspire other people.
I spent my high school years studying at a public school that was supported by a volunteer project run by other young people.

My mother is a teacher and has always worked in vulnerable communities in our neighborhood; I grew up with that inspiration. I saw her classes change lives forever, and that experience made me fall in love with the world of education.

My mother was already involved in the project and introduced me to the organizers at an event.
helpingWhat caught my attention was the focus on the children's educational process; at the time, the NGO had a large public library that they had organized with the help of donations. I'm a voracious reader, so seeing this initiative made me extremely happy, as it reminded me how wonderful it was to be a child with access to books.

In the institution's own words, the Instituto Mucambo proposes "the construction of another possible world," through social and cultural actions, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of quality of life, the promotion of ethics, peace, citizenship, human rights, and democracy.

We are a Civil Society Organization that implements networks of relationships and projects that encourage reading, the democratization of access to books, the dissemination of arts and culture, the development of education and sports initiation, as well as the promotion of the affirmation of cultural identity and the appreciation of history and memory in relation to the construction of social and territorial identity.

My typical day of volunteering consisted of entertaining the children, telling stories, reading books with them, and most importantly, making them feel comfortable and able to participate in everything.
I usually looked after the children, helping with activities that involved them or their parents.

I feel that on that day we were all there not just as volunteers, but as a family for the children. That moment deeply touched me.
I think my favorite moment was at an event called "Good Deeds Day," where I and the other volunteers were able to connect deeply with the activities and thus provide a day of great fun for the children.

Living surrounded by realities different from my own was a turning point in my adulthood, allowing me to realize that I could help people and reflect on the social inequalities that surround me.
I truly grew up with volunteering, having been involved in various projects since adolescence; part of my personality was shaped by it.

So, being part of the Quality Assurance team allowed me to put my abilities to the test, enabling me to deliver the best work for my team, my colleagues, and the company as a whole.
Through so many years of volunteering, I honed my analytical skills, both technically and in relation to people.
helpingOne of my roles during my time as a volunteer was, in a way, to lead activities for the other volunteers. So I learned to communicate assertively, always paying attention to how my actions could affect the team. This allowed me to grow a lot, both as a volunteer and professionally.

I only got my first position at inDrive because my experience in this and other volunteer programs gave me the strength to try and continue.
helpingAnd I'm very happy to be able to participate as an inDrivean in the volunteer activities proposed by the company; it's truly rewarding to know that my work isn't just about performance, but that I have the opportunity to empower people. I feel that this is the true purpose.
